My story Mi historia

I grew up in Buenos Aires, surrounded by a family that valued curiosity and hard work. My fascination with computers started early — I remember spending hours as a kid taking apart things just to see how they worked, and eventually discovering that you could actually tell a computer what to do. That was it for me. Crecí en Buenos Aires, rodeado de una familia que valoraba la curiosidad y el esfuerzo. Mi fascinación con las computadoras empezó temprano — recuerdo pasar horas de chico desarmando cosas solo para ver cómo funcionaban, y eventualmente descubrir que podías decirle a una computadora qué hacer. Ahí fue cuando supe a qué me quería dedicar.

I studied Computer Science at Universidad de Palermo, where I also got my first taste of research — working on AI and robotics at the university lab. That early exposure to artificial intelligence stuck with me and, funnily enough, came full circle years later when AI became a central part of my professional work. Estudié Informática en la Universidad de Palermo, donde también tuve mi primer contacto con la investigación — trabajando en inteligencia artificial y robótica en el laboratorio de la universidad. Esa exposición temprana a la IA quedó conmigo y, curiosamente, cerró el círculo años después cuando la IA se convirtió en parte central de mi trabajo profesional.

What I do A qué me dedico

Currently, I'm a Senior Software Engineer at GoFundMe, where I work on the Amplification team building AI-powered content generation features — designing event-driven systems with Kafka, integrating LLM providers like OpenAI, and shipping features that reach millions of users. It's the kind of work where you get to combine deep backend engineering with the creative possibilities of AI, and I love it. Actualmente soy Senior Software Engineer en GoFundMe, donde trabajo en el equipo de Amplification construyendo features de generación de contenido con IA — diseñando sistemas event-driven con Kafka, integrando proveedores de LLMs como OpenAI, y lanzando funcionalidades que llegan a millones de usuarios. Es el tipo de trabajo donde combinás ingeniería backend profunda con las posibilidades creativas de la IA, y me encanta.

Before GoFundMe, I had an experience that changed my perspective on technology and leadership: I led the Cloud, AI, and Custom Applications practice at Capgemini Argentina — a 120+ person organization. Reporting directly to the country CEO, I learned what it means to shape strategy, build teams, drive pre-sales, and align local execution with global priorities. It was less about writing code and more about empowering others to do their best work. That chapter taught me that leadership is about creating the conditions for people to thrive. Antes de GoFundMe, tuve una experiencia que cambió mi perspectiva sobre tecnología y liderazgo: lideré la práctica de Cloud, AI y Custom Applications en Capgemini Argentina — una organización de más de 120 personas. Reportando directamente al CEO del país, aprendí lo que significa dar forma a una estrategia, construir equipos, impulsar pre-venta y alinear la ejecución local con prioridades globales. Fue menos sobre escribir código y más sobre habilitar a otros para que hagan su mejor trabajo. Ese capítulo me enseñó que liderar es crear las condiciones para que las personas crezcan.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with some incredible companies and teams. I built features for the Financial Times homepage, worked on ad systems at Rappi, migrated APIs at Ipsy, architected portals for Swiss Medical Group, led engineering teams at GlobalLogic, and was the first Principal Software Architect for LATAM at Level 3 Communications. Each role shaped how I think about software — not just as code, but as a tool that connects people and solves real problems. A lo largo de los años, tuve el privilegio de trabajar con empresas y equipos increíbles. Construí funcionalidades para la homepage del Financial Times, trabajé en sistemas de publicidad en Rappi, migré APIs en Ipsy, diseñé portales para Swiss Medical Group, lideré equipos de ingeniería en GlobalLogic, y fui el primer Principal Software Architect para LATAM en Level 3 Communications. Cada rol moldeó cómo pienso el software — no solo como código, sino como una herramienta que conecta personas y resuelve problemas reales.

Beyond the screen Más allá de la pantalla

But there's much more to me than engineering. I'm a proud father of two — Santi and Sofi — and I share life with my incredible wife, Cintia. They're my grounding force, the ones who remind me that the most meaningful things in life have nothing to do with uptime or deployment pipelines. Pero hay mucho más en mi vida que la ingeniería. Soy padre orgulloso de dos — Santi y Sofi — y comparto la vida con mi increíble esposa, Cintia. Ellos son mi cable a tierra, los que me recuerdan que las cosas más importantes de la vida no tienen nada que ver con uptime ni deployment pipelines.

I love spending time in nature — it recharges me in ways that no amount of coffee can. I'm also a voracious reader, mostly across philosophy, science, and technology. There's something deeply satisfying about connecting ideas from different domains. Occasionally I write about these intersections on my blog and on my YouTube channel, where I explore the space between technology and philosophy. Me encanta pasar tiempo en la naturaleza — me recarga de una manera que ninguna cantidad de café puede lograr. También soy un lector voraz, sobre todo de filosofía, ciencia y tecnología. Hay algo profundamente satisfactorio en conectar ideas de distintos dominios. De vez en cuando escribo sobre estas intersecciones en mi blog y en mi canal de YouTube, donde exploro el espacio entre tecnología y filosofía.

And while I don't game as much as I used to, I still have a soft spot for the '90s classics — those games that shaped my love for storytelling and creativity long before I ever wrote a line of code. Y si bien ya no juego tanto como antes, todavía tengo debilidad por los clásicos de los '90 — esos juegos que moldearon mi amor por las historias y la creatividad mucho antes de que escribiera mi primera línea de código.

What drives me Qué me mueve

At my core, I'm driven by curiosity. I want to understand how things work, why they work that way, and whether there's a better way. That applies to distributed systems and Kafka consumers, sure — but also to ideas, to how teams collaborate, and to how we can use technology to make people's lives a little better. En el fondo, me mueve la curiosidad. Quiero entender cómo funcionan las cosas, por qué funcionan así, y si hay una forma mejor. Eso aplica a sistemas distribuidos y Kafka consumers, claro — pero también a las ideas, a cómo colaboran los equipos, y a cómo podemos usar la tecnología para mejorar un poco la vida de las personas.

Whether it's exploring new ideas, building something from scratch, tackling a gnarly production issue at 2am, or just sitting quietly with a book while my kids play nearby — I'm always looking for meaningful experiences and opportunities to grow. Ya sea explorando ideas nuevas, construyendo algo desde cero, atacando un problema de producción a las 2am, o simplemente sentado tranquilo leyendo un libro mientras mis hijos juegan cerca — siempre busco experiencias significativas y oportunidades para crecer.
